Isabela Apartment

This stay was one of the highlights of our trip. Baleal is such a special place, and this Airbnb was the perfect spot to enjoy it. The ocean views just steps away were incredible, the sunsets were beautiful, and at night we could hear the waves crashing while we fell asleep, such a peaceful way to end each day.

Communication was excellent and self check-in was seamless. The space was very clean, the shower pressure was great, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a couple of meals. Having laundry was also a huge bonus.

We parked our car on the street and walked everywhere, which made the whole stay feel so easy and relaxed. We completely fell in love with Baleal and were genuinely sad to leave. We would absolutely come back…and stay much longer next time!

What a great place! Morning sunlight in the kitchen/livingroom, sunset on the terrace in front of the bedrooms. Tucked away in a quiet spot, like a hobbit-hole but with way more sunlight than you would expect from a ground-floor apartment. Walk to the beach in less than a minute, or to a cute bench on the cliffside. Perfect spot for surfers or any beach-lovers looking for something quieter, away from the main road, but still with easy access to everything. 10/10 would book again!

We had a great couple of days in this apartment. It’s well appointed and the location is unbeatable! We had a little trouble unlocking the door the first time but they quickly answered our call and gave us instructions and we got right in. The Baleal beach is just a quick 2 mins walk from the apartment and the view of the ocean off the back of the apartment is jaw dropping! Thank you for a great stay!

This was a great place to stay, situated right next to the beach so it’s very convenient if you’re surfing in the area. The apartment was very light and airy despite it being a ground floor property it really didn’t feel like it. There were great facilities for cooking, hanging wetsuits, storing board etc. The tv was good and it had an HDMI, plenty of heaters if the place got chilly. And above all the hosts were really responsive and welcoming, 100% would recommend staying here!

Incredible location, very quiet, super close to beach etc, communicative hosts. Only call out is that the apt is lower level (which they are transparent about) and a bit musty. That said, windows open fully and you can bring in great light and a nice breeze. Overall, best place we stayed in Portugal. Thank you!

Great flat. Did workstation for a month. Good kitchen, internet connection and super close to the beach. Had a good time and we did think already about coming back next year. (Only 2cd bigger table would be appreciated)

We stayed a week with kids(2+5) and really enjoyed the place. Location is classic even without sea-view. The apartment is very simple but convenient with outside shower(garden hose), porch to drip-dry the wetsuits, hall to accommodate the surfboards, hot shover, reliable WIFI, large sofa and a very well equipped kitchen. Absolutely care-free self-check-in and kind and helpful host!

We stayed close to a month with my small pup. What an amazing place to stay, on the island, steps away from the beach. Communication was quick and easy, there was hot water which I was very grateful for every day after surfing, and reliable WIFI which was important as we were working remotely. There were ample cooking supplies, I loved that there was Tupperware for leftovers! Would definitely stay again!! Great for a short or long term stay!

La maison est fonctionnelle et idéalement située sur la presqu’île de Baleal. La maison est dotée de petits radiateurs électriques, indispensables pour l’humidité sans doute dû à la proximité de la mer. Baleal est un vrai bijou, les plages pour le surf sont à moins de 5 minutes à pied de la maison. À 10 mins en voiture de Peniche, joignable également à pied par une belle balade sur la plage. Nous avons eu la chance d’avoir du beau temps au mois de février. La communication avec Fernando et son équipe a été très facile.

Beautifully located, spacious, clean and well equipped apartment on Baleal Island. We've spent two nights with two young children, who were happy to play on the cozy sofa in the big kitchen/dining area. Fernando the host put electric heaters in all rooms, so the place was quite comfy and warm even in winter. Fernando always replied super quick and stayed in contact via WhatsApp to make sure everything was fine. We'll be happy to come back sometime.

We stayed here for two nights and loved the location and being able to walk to the beach. Luciana and Fernando were also very kind to us when I mixed up our check-in date. The suite itself is basic and could use some updates in the furniture, but overall great value and location. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.

The flat was very clean and good equipped! There where even some things for the beach like two small surfboards, sun umbrellas and a windbreak. The view on the ocean in the front of the flat and the location were amazing! Communication and self-checkin also went very well. We would recommend the flat and host again!

Beautiful setting and lovely location. The apartment is a bit tricky to find but our gracious host came to our rescue. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. It was great to have a grill to cook fresh fish. Parking can be a challenge but once there you won’t want to leave. Bring your food or enjoy a local restaurant.

Je ne peux pas dire assez sur cet appartement. Son emplacement était incroyable (deux pas de la plage sur une péninsule). Les lits étaient confortables. L'appartement était propre et très bien équipé. Fernando était communicatif. Tout était parfait. On a voyagé mi-février donc il n'y avait pas beaucoup de monde ce qui nous plaisait. J'imagine qu'en été, les plages sont très fréquentées. Il faut avoir une voiture. Il y'a un grand supermarché à 15 minutes en voiture.

This apartment/house was perfect. It was extremely well placed a couple steps from the beach on a peninsula. The beds were comfortable. The apartment was clean and extremely well stocked. Fernando was communicative and arrival/departure was easy. Everything was great. We were there in mid-February and therefore, we did not see lots of other people. We enjoyed the quietness of the location. I imagine that in the summer, there is a lot more traffic. Note that you need a car for this apartment. There is a grocery store about 15 minutes away.

We felt very comfortbale in Fernando's appartment. It was perfect for us as a family (couple with a kid and a baby) because there was erverything we needed. Very spacious, cozy couch. In every room a heater (we went there in February) that Fernando already switched on before our arrival. Thank you! But the best is the location around. On the penisula of Baleal, two minutes by foot to the beautiful beaches. Perfect with kids and for surfers. We can absolutly recommend this place.

This apartment is very clean and comfortable and has all that you'll need for a relaxing stay on Baleal island. It is lovely being so close to the water and it's possible to just walk out the door and explore a beautiful rocky point by foot. We were there in the more quiet winter months which allowed for lots of privacy. In the winter, there isn't much for amenities on the island, but the town of Peniche is a short drive away and it has plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. We took the scenic route from Lisbon and went through Sintra and along the coast to get there, which I also really recommend. This is a fantastic spot to slow down and connect with the sea!!!! Also, best shower in Portugal!!!

It’s a very cozy and warm house in the winter. The house is perfect for 4 people and has sea views. Kitchen is full equipped and Fernando and Luciana have been really nice hosts. Good communication from the beginning and good vibes! We seriously recommend this place!

Fernando is a great and really flexible host! We had to change our date of arrival doing to a storm in the area and he happily accepted the change. Also, he is really easy to communicate with and he provides all of the information you ask for. We were able to park behind the house which was a great detail! The house is quite basic but it has everything you need and the kitchen is really well equipped.

Great location and accessibility to the local bars/Restuarants and beaches. Lovely hosts and very helpful with information for self check in etc. Got discount for local surf hire with the rental. The Isabela apartment is really a great place to stay in Baleal: It is located on Baleal Island, if you step outside the door you have a beautiful view over the ocean and can enjoy the sunset. The beach (and two different surf spots) is very close. Nearby are also a few nice restaurants and bars. The apartment is really spacious and the kitchen is actually better equipped than my own.
Luciana and Fernando are supernice and easygoing.
We really felt at home in the apartment and will definitely come again!!!

The apartment was as described. Only a few meters from the beach and very cosy and clean. The check in was very flexible and Luciana showed us everything. In the apartment was an information map with all important information like surf schools (400m), supermarkets (1km), restaurants, bars. The apartment bedroom window has a sea view and we slept with the windows open to hear the waves! Perfect for us as we were driving up the coast from Sintra to Porto and it was a nice stopover. Super windy but beautiful beaches. There are nearby restaurants and supermarkets and the apartment is equipped to cook and do laundry. We love this place! Its perfect for our little family of four. Its on the island so its quieter and you have numerous surf spots and coffee shops/bars within walking distance. It has a fully functioning kitchen and living room with TV, DVD player and full wifi.
My favourite bit is that you can sit outside and watch the sunset over a cold beer and watch the big swells roll in. You can hear the waves at night as well which is just perfect.

The apartment was super clean, you have everything you need and Fernando and Luciana from Baleal Rentals are very friendly and helpful. There is a room where you can keep the surfboards and all the sandy stuff from the beach and where you can hang your wetsuits. You´re so close to the beaches you don´t necessarily need a car (we didn´t).

Everyone visiting the great surf beaches of Baleal should stay on Baleal island! Fernando's place has a beautiful and quiet location on the island. It was lovely to hear the crashing surf as we fell asleep. Fernando and his wife were extremely helpful with the checkin and the booklet of information they provided was the most thorough I've ever seen. Obrigada!

Great location and comfortable accommodation on Baleal Island. Two access points to the accommodation makes things easy whether your loading the car for a day trip of going for a morning stroll. Great base for both experienced and beginner surfers both for waves and hanging out with the crowd in the local beachside cafe's. Will be back.

Everything was well organized, the communication was pretty smooth and friendly. More than well equipped. I have been to baleal many times to surf over New Year's Eve but never such a good price performance ratio. Even though I have my own surfboards, I can recommend to rent surfboards over the apartment, they're coming in a good quality and a better price is difficult to find. I will come back.

Everything was just excellent and very simple. Communication was perfect and trouble-free. Luciana and Fernando were very friendly, helpful and professional. The apartment was clean and well equipped. It was my forth trip to Peniche/Baleal but without any doubts the accommodation directly on the Baleal Island/Peninsula was the coolest of all. Beeing there on the Island means that you are just in the centre off all the events and possibilities. It is just perfect ad very "climatic". You can feel like a local guy, make a coffee in your Apartment and drink it directly on the beach. Hope to return to Baleal as quick as it will be possible. I can not say too many good things about this place, as well as the hospitality of Luciana and Fernando. Communication and arrival were smooth, and we really appreciated the various recommendations provided to guests. We stayed a little over a week, and loved the location-proximity to the beach (for surf!), restaurants and bars, and markets. Baleal is truly relaxing. Luciana went above and beyond, checking in on us and making recommendations for massage/pedicure places in Ferrell. Truly a memorable vacation-look no further!

This is the fourth time we have stayed in this apartment and it hasn't disappointed once. It's steps from the beach and close to restaurants and grocery. Fernando is great, he makes it very easy to come and go and is always available to help. The apartment is clean and has a well stocked kitchen. Anyone who rents this will not be disappointed.

Nice apartment close to the ocean. The hosts were very helpful with organizing transport and upon my arrival, there was even a welcome treat waiting for me. Especially the kitchen is very well equipped. I had a wonderful holiday: the location of Baleal is just fantastic, so many good surf spots everywhere and all the local people I met were very helpful and friendly.

The Isabel apartment was excellent. It has everything you need, from ample kitchen gear to a washing machine and good wi-fi connection. Its location on "the island" at Baleal was ideal for our 10-day surf trip. It took a mere 30 seconds to check the swell and a brief two-minute walk down and see the surf breaks on both sides of the peninsula. The property managers Fernando and Luciana were very attentive and genuinely nice people. Baleal itself is a laid-back surfer community with international character. In addition to friendly locals, I met Swedes, Germans, a Canadian, Brits and Norwegians. Hope to return someday. Obrigado!

Die Unterkunft ist super gelegen, auf der Halbinsel von Baleal in der Nähe von Peniche. Es war sehr ruhig, da nur wenige Besuche auf der Halbinsel waren. Dafür war man direkt am Meer und wenn es die Bedingungen zulassen kann man direkt zum surfen an den Strand von Lagide oder Baleal gehen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden, im Haus ist alles vorhanden und die Kommunikation mit Fernando war super und unkompliziert.

This was a great base to call home while I was surfing in Baleal. The apartment's location on the island was a treat. The landscape is wild, open and beautiful, and I loved that we were in the middle of it. The apartment was clean and well situated, and Fernando was super. Excellent communication and a lovely person. Am trying to already figure out how to get back to Baleal

Nice, clean apartment with fantastic location, 30 meters from the beach. Fully equipped kitchen, and I mean including coffee, olive oil, spices etc. That's good service. Really enjoyed that our stay. Very friendly and helpful host!

We stayed there at the end of March 2015, just the two of us but there was plenty of space for more with two good-sized bedrooms. The location is fantastic, just a stone's throw from the sea (which can be seen out of the little bedroom window) and several surf spots. A really nice touch was the thoughtfulness of the owners in leaving us teabags, coffee filters, dishwasher tablets, cooking oil etc, etc - meaning we could get in there and enjoy the apartment without having to go shopping immediately. Very much appreciated and highly recommended!

Great location. I stayed with my wife and 2 year old son. The apt is perfect for a family of 3/4 people. The service was amazing. Lots of toys left for my son to play with , we could walk to the beach in less then 5 minute . Great holiday . Baleal is the business. I\'ll be coming back soon.

Excellent apartment, comfortable, ocean, relaxing, well fitted out and in a magnificent location. An easy walk in bare feet to the surf/beaches and very comfortable beds after a long day in the surf!

Location is just beautiful, in the middle of an island, surrounded by ancient houses, couple of cafeterias and restaurant nearby. Sunsets over the Berlengas every evening. Equipment was fine, i liked dvd player with vast collection of surf-movies and heaters which I dried my wetsuit on. I hope to be back there again next year.

A wonderful holiday retreat for those who surf or just want to relax. The house is just a stones throw away from the surf, it's big and cosy and situated close to everything. I have stayed here several times and enjoyed very much.

I would definitely recommend it and will be staying again.
